Christmas Store 2024
Once again we had a bounty of over 1,000 donated toys for our Christmas Store - thank you for these gifts of grace! Each parent who came to the store had the opportunity to select gifts for their children, lovingly and with dignity. Volunteers assisted parents throughout the store, serving as personal shoppers, re-stockers, and gift-wrappers, and even offered prayer to anyone who wanted it. It was a joy-filled day and we're certain there were many smiles on Christmas morning!
Get Rooted
What fun we had Getting Rooted in Action, Prayer, and Connection in the Fall of 2024. Each Come-and-See event was filled with meaningful interactions between staff, board members, youth, volunteers, and donors. We loved inviting you into our "home," showing you around, and introducing you to our "family." Thank you for coming!
Great Banquet House Parties
Last spring 2024 we hosted a series of four Great Banquet House Parties at homes around the Bay Area. What a joy it was to spend those evenings with many of you - feasting on good food, exchanging warm fellowship, and sharing inspiring stories of hope. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us in Oakland, San Ramon, Alameda, and Lafayette.
Christmas Store 2023
On December 16, 2023, Harbor House hosted its annual Christmas Store. The Store was an empowering opportunity for parents from our community to select toys for their children, purchase them at greatly reduced prices ($2 per toy), and experience the joy of watching their children open a gift that they had chosen on Christmas morning. All proceeds raised from the store provided financial assistance to families with urgent needs.
Get Rooted
In the fall of 2023 we offered a series of Come-and-See events at Harbor House during our Get Rooted campaign. Guests were able to get rooted in action during project peace day of service, connect at our garden party happy hour, pray during our mini contemplative retreat and get rooted in generosity with our online fundraising campaign.
Great Banquet House Parties
During the Spring of 2023, we threw parties at homes in Martinez, Oakland and Orinda. Guests heard inspiring updates directly from program participants and staff, learned how our Christ-centered, relational, and empowering approach to community development is changing lives and were given the chance to take action to invest in the flourishing of youth and their families in Oakland.
