Changes to Food Distribution

As of October 1, 2023, Harbor House will no longer be an "open" site for food distribution. This means that our distribution will no longer be “open” to anyone from the community. Instead, we will exclusively be a "closed" site. This means that our distribution will be specifically for families that we (and our community partners) are working with day in and day out.

We will continue to serve our enrolled Harbor House families every other Thursday evening as we’ve been doing for the last two years. And in place of our every other Tuesday morning distribution to the larger community, we will now distribute food every other Monday at noon to families who are enrolled in programs at Refugee and Immigrant Transitions and Burma Refugee Families and Newcomers (and other partners that we work with).

This is a change that has been brewing for many years and we all feel that now is the right time to do it as this new model better aligns with our mission and our three core values: Christ-centered, Relational, and Empowering. Namely, we want everything we do at Harbor House to be rooted in on-going, life-giving relationships and to empower families to reach their full potential

We expect to continue serving a high volume of families in our community and will work with our community partners to sign families up for our distribution who need better access to food. Our clients from the greater community have all been notified of this change and have been given the names and addresses of 3 other distribution sites in our neighborhood where they can receive food.  See below for those locations:
