Emergency Food Box Program

Harbor House has been a distribution site of the Alameda County Community Food Bank for many years.  This year, we are seeing the value of this essential service with an increase of 300% in people who came for food during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

We distribute pre-bagged food on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00-4:30 pm outside in our parking lot.  Clients may quickly and safely receive fresh produce, bread, rice, beans, and pantry staples. Please call 510.534.0165 to pick up food twice a month by appointment. New clients without appointments are invited to come at 3:30 pm on any Tuesday of the month.

Need Food?

If you need food for any reason, please come by Harbor House any Tuesday afternoon from 3:00-4:30 pm to receive bags of fresh produce, bread, beans, rice, pasta, and other pantry staples.  Due to COVID-19, all food is pre-bagged and distributed outside from our parking lot.  Masks are required and everyone in line must stand six feet apart.  On your first visit, you will be asked your name, address, and number of people in your household (how many adults, children, and seniors) for our reporting purposes.  Please stay home if you are sick.   

Want to Volunteer? 

We are currently seeking volunteers to help pre-bag food on Mondays from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and distribute food on Tuesdays from 2:00 - 4:30 pm.  If you are interested in volunteering on either Mondays or Tuesdays, please contact Dee at dee@hhministries.org. Volunteers must complete an application.  Daily health screenings, temperature checks, masks, gloves, and physical distancing are required.  Masks and gloves will be provided as needed.
