Emergency Food & Clothing ServicesIn the mornings, Harbor House is teeming with adults who come for a bag of food, needed clothes, or to attend an English as a Second Language or quilting class. Last year, we distributed 4289 bags of food to an average of 742 people in 282 households per month. Many of those families also received free clothing and other valuable information such as referrals to other agencies. All of them were greeted by loving volunteers and staff.  For more information about our programs for adults, please click here.

jharris_cx1b5892In the afternoons, we warmly open our doors to 60 elementary children from the neighborhood for our high-quality after-school program. At Harbor House, they are served a nutritious, hearty snack and offered a quiet and safe place to do their homework, participate in high-quality enrichment activities such as art, choir, cooking, and soccer, play outdoor games, and develop positive relationships with caring mentors. First and second graders who are below grade level in reading receive a one-on-one reading tutor. Teens from the community serve as interns running the elementary program, while learning valuable leadership skills.  Teens also have their own after-school program twice a week in the evenings.  Click here for more information about our programs for children and here for more information about our programs for teens.
